Glassdoor released their list of the 25 best jobs in America for 2015, and the top job has "assistant" in the title. These are jobs with great pay and lots of openings...so what what kind of assistant is raking it in? A teacher's assistant? A magician's assistant? Ah, no.
Physician Assistant scores the top job in 2015. PA's practice medicine on healthcare teams under the supervision of physicians, but they pretty much do everything the doctor does including physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order tests, write prescriptions, make rounds, etc.
According to Glassdoor, an average PA salary is $111,376, and there are more than 45,000 openings to fill.
Next on the list is Software Engineer, with more than 104-thousand openings with an average salary of $90,000.
Business Development Manager is #3, followed by Human Resources Manager, and Finance Manager.
The entire list is on the Glassdoor blog
It's interesting to compare how quickly things change. I did a little research and discovered healthcare wasn't as in-demand as it is today. The #1 degree in demand 10 years ago: Accounting, followed by Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, and Finance.
So what will the Hottest Jobs list look like for 2025? Well, we know it won't be anything in transportation, because software will be doing the driving for us.
In fact, I'm afraid we're getting closer to looking like the people on the spaceship in the movie Wall-E. Remember them? They floated around all day staring at a screen while drinking lunch in a cup?
I pray the hottest job isn't the person who prepares lunch in a cup...although that will probably be automated, too.
Time will tell.
How can I help make your life easier...kind of like lunch in a cup! I have your voice over needs covered. Just click "audition" above to get started!
